Sylvia Alakusheva

Sylvia is a Boston-based yoga teacher, functional nutritionist and a certified health coach. She is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in NYC and holds a graduate degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. Sylvia is also certified as an Ayurvedic nutrition specialist and often applies the ancient principles of Ayurveda in her work with patients.

According to Sylvia, there is not one right diet or approach to health that works for everyone all of the time. Following the principles of bio-individuality, she takes the time to get to know each person that comes through the door and to thoroughly review their health history, current lifestyle and wellness goals. She works closely with each patient to design an effective treatment plan tailored to their individual constitution and unique health circumstances.

Sylvia specializes in weight management, digestive health and elimination diets with a focus on gluten and dairy-free meal options. She is also passionate about women’s health and works to address hormonal imbalances and infertility through healthy diet, lifestyle and supplemental nutrition.

Sylvia is a proud mom of three young children – twin boys Liam and Lucas and their big sister Maya. In her spare time, she loves to practice yoga, go for long runs by the Charles, and spend time tending to her garden.
