Dr. Michael Melander grew up in Acton, MA graduating from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. He attended the University of Vermont graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Soon after, he attended the Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida Campus in Port Orange, FL, graduating with honors.
Dr. Melander developed an interest in the chiropractic profession at a fairly young age having experienced and witnessed the benefits of care first-hand. An interest in treating an athletic population prompted him to pursue post-graduate education in sports medicine, eventually earning the status of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician in 2011. Additional interest in the care of soft tissue injuries influenced his decisions to become certified in Active Release Techniques®, Graston Technique®, and Functional Range Conditioning®. He has been an Active Release Techniques® instructor since 2017.
He currently lives in Newburyport, MA with his wife Kellie, children Jack and Nora, and chocolate lab Stokely. In his free time he enjoys skiing, surfing, Maine, Vermont, and all things Boston Sports.
