Deep Tissue Massage
A Deep Tissue Massage utilizes more pressure than the "traditional" Swedish massage many clients use for relaxation. This massage technique is great for those stiff “trouble spots” in the body. Although this type of massage is more intense, you shouldn’t experience a great amount of lasting pain or soreness. Deep Tissue Massage is therapeutic; relieving chronic patterns of tension brought on by your daily activities, athletics, and work schedule. This session will greatly benefit anyone with acute or chronic muscular conditions like back pain, muscle strains, over-use syndromes, and general fatigue.
Craniosacral is a noninvasive gentle therapy, utilizing light pressure to relieve pain caused by compression of the joints and soft tissues. This therapy works on the premise that manipulating bones in a targeted manner normalizes the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the central nervous system. This technique is perfect for individuals of all ages, and effective in treating conditions like: TMJ disorders, neck pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, sleep disturbances, IBS, and mood disorders. Craniosacral therapy may also be beneficial in trauma recovery and pregnancy.
Active Release Techniques™ (ART)
ART™ is a patented massage technique combining movement and manipulation to boost circulation; and promote faster healing of the muscle, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. It is commonly used to treat injuries/conditions whose underlying cause is damage to the body's major muscle groups and/or fibrous connective tissue (the dense protective network of fascia supporting organs and muscles throughout the body). An ART™ session begins with your provider manually evaluating tissues for textural change (i.e. scar tissue/adhesions ) and aberrant movement (i.e. decreased range of motion), followed by a customized treatment protocol specific to the involved tissue.
Made famous by Michael Phelps’ deep purple “dots” in the 2016 Rio Olympics; Cupping is an ancient, but effective Chinese technique used in massage therapy. Utilizing special “cups” that are applied directly to the skin, a vacuum is created lightly pulling the soft issues outward (as opposed to the inward pressure of a traditional massage). The vacuum created by the cups draws circulating blood to the area and gently holds the tissues in a sustained micro stretch, increasing healing in the tissues and reducing muscle tension.
Cupping therapy reduces pain, inflammation, boosts blood flow, and promotes relaxation. In fact, the therapy can double up as deep-tissue massage. According to research, cupping has been found to help with pain management, herpes zoster, facial paralysis and acne among many other ailments. Researchers, however, stress on the importance of effective application. Are therapists are unmatched in skill and experienced while applying this fantastic technique.
Sports massage therapy is geared towards athletes who want to stay healthy and avoid injuries. Whether you are a world-class professional or a weekend warrior running a 5k race next week, everyone can benefit from some form of bodywork. Sports massage helps muscle systems prepare for and recover faster after an athletic endeavor. This is accomplished by utilizing a variety of hands-on massage techniques to areas of the body that are overused and overstressed from the repetitive and often powerful movements performed during a specific sport. So, whether it is for a Tune-Up before a race or a Recovery Session after a long tournament, a Sports Massage with Ángel Lopez has you covered!
City living can be tough on your mind and body. The perfect remedy to the hard worker bee is a massage that restores vitality, wellness, and soft tissue work. This is a multi-level/multi-faceted massage that incorporates a blend of Japanese Table Shiatsu, Acupressure, Reflexology, and Swedish massage. This unique combination of styles will encourage proper blood circulation and mobility to areas that are "guarded" and full of tension. A reYOUvenate session ends with an invigorating scalp, face and jaw massage to help clear the mind and offer you a moment of restorative healing from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Structural Bodywork is a soft tissue therapy derived from the “Rolfing” technique originally patented by Ida Rolf. This technique looks at the body as a whole to address muscle length imbalances, mechanical compensations due to injury, compression of joints, and inflammatory conditions causing the body to over-react to its own healing process. Our providers utilize deep consistent pressure over a period of time to gently approach restricted tissues, continuously adjusting as the body reacts to treatment. Structural Bodywork is a functional, systemic, and progressive approach to healing that may include a series of sessions to address the bodily changes that arise after releasing a restricted muscle group.
